Untucked.

I am so sorry that my posting was irregular for the past week! I took an unexpected hiatus when my dad decided to go on a trip and take the camera with him, which leads me to remember my growing Christmas list.

On the record, I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving with food and fun and family and food. I cannot help but feel exhausted now, I am dying to have vacation now.

Anyway, my outfit today was pretty basic, as usual. I wore my pointy flats that are my life (even though they hurt sometimes) from Gap, some old skinny jeans, and my Rice University shirt that I'm wearing more and more as college time comes closer for me.

Have a great Tuesday!

Annnd one picture my brother took before I was prepped- my hair looks like this from the back?

Change in the Weather.

I think I've made my point that printed pants are my thing. Plus plaid is plaid is plaid is joy.

Leggings- Aero (first time going in since five years ago :)
Sweater- Gap
Booties- Aldo

Yes!! My hair did change; you aren't hallucinating. Okay, I feel like the back story is needed in order for my hair's symbolic meaning (*insert air quotes and dramatic sigh*) to be understood fully.

Lets take it back a few years to ninth grade.

It was time for a drastic change. I had wanted a bob ever since I had come across Faye Dunaway in the trailer for Bonnie and Clyde. I told my mom about my idea, and she immediately shot it down, telling me that my hair would not be manageable at that length. Deep down, I knew she was right- I couldn't handle a straightener, for crying out loud- so I vowed aloud ( no assonance intended) to do so. I chickened out the moment I told the hairdresser what I wanted, so I quietly took a strange lob/mid-length hybrid- thing. And I hated it, but had no guts to say anything, so I patiently grew it out. Then I became a senior and I saw Lily Collins chop her hair to a lob and then a bob. And then I saw a few cuts around school and people saying that they were doing it either because
a) senior year / cuz yolo
b) odds are we would never see them again
c) purely coincidental that they got the cut in senior year
d) etc etc etc....
....So I finally figured -what the heck?- and got a bob. And may or may not have skipped around like a child.

Lesson learned?
Just. Get. The. Blessed. Haircut. Already.  Just kidding, its YOLO. But seriously.

Don't mind me, I'll just giggle in my turtleneck.

Is Cold A Thing Now?

Fall raking struggles...featuring my new favorite flats.

HEAR YE HEAR YE IT IS FINALLY COLD ERMAGHERD.

I don't think there are words that could articulate my happiness at this glorious weather. When I stepped outside to take these pictures with my brother, we were both pleasantly surprised. Finally, no one will judge me when I wear a fuzzy chunky sweater with boots and sip hot apple cider! Now, I can actually read a book in the coziness indoors and blame it on the cold!

Just kidding, I love the cold.

In case you missed my (on trend) burgundy stiletto shaped nails. Cue the cliche fall picture:)

My ponytail was in the way. Duh.
I actually shivered as I took these photos. This morning, I ditched the jacket- I serously doubted that the temperature would drop below sixty, so I went off in my Gap flats, burgundy pants that have been on shameless repeat, and my old Abercrombie shirt that I really don't wear too often because it is chunky and really does not drape well.

Anyway, thanks for reading! *raises teacup*

One Final Glimpse

This week felt eternal for me. Luckily, my parents have begun their holiday shopping, and I get to tag along. On one side, I got to hold the ALEXANDER WANG X HM COLLECTION in my hands...lsjdf

Oops, I flailed around like a crazed fangirl and accidentally smacked the keyboard.

I also began my holiday baking heist, where I bake anything and everything pumpkin-y/cinnamon-y/fattening/starchy/carb loaded. Pumpkin bread came and went, and so did some sweet potato pancakes. Now school is becoming more tedious than before, probably because I am six weeks closer to graduating-sigh.

I have some snaps of cornbread I made:)

Have a great weekend! And here's to another week of waiting for Thanksgiving break!

Glorious Hair for Lazy People

I have been considering chopping my hair for the longest time now, and the more times I see the trailer for Love, Rosie the more I want to cut my hair into a short, blunt bob like Lily *cough- glorious-cough* Collins. It reminds me of Marion Cotillard and French sixties mod style. Plus ( the most important reason in my opinion), I am  a lazy person.

These are the pictures burning a hole in my phone and computer screen day after day...
let us all witness the glory that is Lily Collins, Marion Cotillard, Clemence Poesy, and  Karla Deras, the ultimate messy/cute bob queens.

I am obsessed with Karla's natural texture.

Not sure who this girl is, but her hair is so blunt and perfect in every way.

All pictures from Vogue, Elle,Tumblr, and the depths of my computer files.

Bottom line- if I can let my hair air dry and not have to worry about it tangling too terribly, then it is the haircut for me. Now, serious question: do round faces look okay with short hair?

Counting Down.

Today I paraded off to school in a fall-like outfit, trying to embody the excitement that comes from fallen leaves on florescent grass, and steaming apple cider (or tea in my case). Now looking at these pictures of me, I resemble a pumpkin patch...the brown pumpkins that are threatening to rot if not carved or baked into a pie, the black pumpkins ( or rotten mushy stuff it decomposes into, I guess compost?) that actually followed through with their threats, and the vibrant reddish, scarlet, burnt sienna, orange types of pumpkins that people leave for decoration on their porches and take pictures with annually.
With this inspiration in mind and extra time this morning, I practically skipped off to school today in my awesome orange pants, Aldo booties and moto jacket. Because what else is there to do after Halloween then to hopefully sit and wait for Thanksgiving with a pumpkin spice latte in hand?

Side Note: Who said orange didn't match anything??

Got That Teen Angst.

                                                                   *Disclaimer*

The sun was in my eyes. I promise I'm not mean- I smiled in the second picture!
Here are some shots my brother (my personal photographer, he's so nice to me:) graciously snapped of me today.

"I'm thinking that I'm going to keep staring off into the distance. Do I seem chic yet?"

Maybe if I wear my jacket like a cape I'll seem more stylish.

I felt like wearing my signature color, blue. It might seem very hipster-y of me to say this ( I am aware of my hipster tendencies), but I wear head to toe blue a lot. Today, my school asked us to wear blue to show school spirit, and most of my friends wore school shirts. My interpretation of school spirit? Wearing the school colors (blue and white) instead. I slapped on my trusty H&M slim-fit trousers, my oxfords that remind me of my menswear style roots, and my prized Gap jacket, probably the only jacket that has ever fit me so well.

Hope no one is suffering some terrifying bouts of candy hangover. OHH. Fun fact, while I was trying to get my hair normal for these pictures, there was a loud creaking noise near a bush behind my brother. When we went to search for the cause of the noise, we were both shocked to see that nothing was there. Walking back to where we were before, we heard the noise again, but it seemed more human-like this time, an unsettling wail that made my brother and I run back inside after only five pictures and without looking at them. There. That is probably the only actually creepy thing that has ever happened to me. Quite fitting that it happened on Halloween.

Thanks for reading!

P.S. Time to start counting down to Thanksgiving break!!

Tryhard.

Look at me, trying so hard to seem like a fashion blogger.

Annnd I couldn't hold back smiling in spite of my foolish attempts at being stylish.

*Insert intense and deep quote that I got from Tumblr*

I decided to wear something really comfortable today. I also figured that in order to seem blogger-lke I would not look directly at the camera. I opted for the dramatic gaze off into the not-so-far into the distance. Happy Tuesday!

Have a great Sunday!

Welcome to a New Journey.

Hi there. I'm Sarah. I just started this blog this morning, so I could

1. Share my love for fashion, literature, and other cultures
2. Try to practice my French skills
3. Show off my awesome photography and glorious writing skills
4. Stun you all with my stunning sarcasm and stunning self  ( I cringe as I type this)

No but seriously, thanks for stopping by. I am a senior in high-school who is dying to do a million things at once, and in a frenzied moment of little thought made a YouTube channel.

Let me tell you, YouTube quickly takes over your life. As a student who also foolishly took too many advanced classes to handle, YouTube was not my best idea. Sooo I took to Blogger because I feel that I express myself way better in writing than I do onscreen. Also, while vlogging seems awesome, I feel that writing my thoughts out keeps me sane, and can be done anywhere.

In conclusion, I hope you guys stick around- I would love to make some friends on Blogger- and make yourselves at home.

                       merci, et à bientôt
